Canon 70-200mm Zoom Lens

Need that extra bit of zoom for your Sony A7s and not sure the 24-70mm will cut it? We have you covered with the 70-200mm! The Canon 70-200mm F2.8 L IS ii USM is from the Canon L Series professional lens range, representing the best in precision-designed EF optics.

L-series lenses combine superior performance with great handling, and are resistant to dust and moisture. This lens is a workhorse telephoto zoom lens designed for professional use. It has a rugged durable design, a four-stop Image Stabiliser and specialised lens elements. With a fast F2.8 maximum aperture, which stays constant over the full focal-length range, you know that you will be getting fast and sharp images without having to lose quality when zooming in and it gives you that all important control over depth of field.

The lens is both manual and autofocus, with a ring-type ultrasonic motor driving the autofocus extremely quickly, and in near silence. Excellent holding torque ensures the point of focus is reached accurately, without overshooting. Canon’s four-stop Image Stabiliser (IS) makes the 70-200mm F2.8 IS II USM ideal for shooting in low light conditions when using a tripod is not possible. The IS system allows shutter speeds up to four stops slower than normal to be used without causing image blur.

The lens features elements made from fluorite, which reduce chromatic aberration and reduced colour blur means less time in post production with an edge-to-edge sharpness usually only found in prime lenses. Five UD (ultra-low dispersion) elements are used to ensure high contrast and natural and accurate colour reproduction throughout the zoom range. This also helps in reducing flare and ghosting – a common problem caused by light bouncing off a camera’s sensor.
